At Thomas General Contractors, LLC, we've done our best to create a Web site that anticipates and satisfies our customers' needs. Do you give free estimates?
Yes.  We give one free estimate for your project.  We do charge for repeated estimates on the same project.

Do we need to have a building plan?
No.  We can work with your plan if you have one, but we can design and draw plans for you if you don't based on your ideas or a picture or a sketch you have.  We charge a minimum of $500 for a simple plan and the charge goes up from there depending on the complexity of the project.

Can you finance the project for us?
No.  We can put you in touch with some lenders that we have worked with before that may be able to finance your project.  We can't guarantee that they will finance it for you, but we'll do all we can to help.

How does your billing work?
On simple repairs or very small jobs, we bill at the end of the job and payment is due upon completion of the work.  On large jobs, we bill every 30 days and payment is due within 10 days.  If you have a lender, we will work with the payment requirements they have.  We accept cash or checks, but don't take cards of any kind at this time.

How long does it take to build?
Every project is different, but for a small house (1200sqft) with normal finishes, it will take between 3 and 4 months from ground breaking.  For medium to large houses (over 1200 sqft) it takes between 5 to 8 months.  Larger structures or structures with complicated or special finish details could take longer.  All construction is subject to weather and material delays, but we try to give you our best estimate of the time frame before we start.

Do you guarantee your work.
Yes.  All our work is guaranteed for one year from the date of completion.  For new construction there are other manufacturer warranties on systems (HVAC) that may extend past the one year mark.  The warranty does NOT cover landscaping or cosmetic issues.  Every customer is given an opportunity to inspect and sign off on the finished work before final payment is made.  Example:  if you knock a hole in your wall while moving furniture, that's on you.  If a nail or screw backs out of the drywall, that's on us.  We strive for customer satisfaction, so we want to take care of any issues quickly and fairly.
